Great mouse hampered by power consumption

I have had this mouse for 3 months now and it has been great. There are more function here than I need, it is accurate and reliable, except for one thing. It eat power faster than my fridge does. It is probably the blue tooth but this mouse needs recharging, new batteries every week. I leave it connected to the mini USB cord close to permanently to keep the power to it, defeating the purpose of a cordless mouse. *I am not a fan of blue tooth, as everything I have with it is a power hog! My keyboard gets sucked dry and my phone, that will last 3 weeks without charging - with out blue tooth, but only 2 days with blue tooth enabled!*
