Storage Tower II (black color) integrated with AD4SR5HPMU-E, Black color cover and front bezel - Connects up to 4 drives to system via an eSATA port of any SATA controller or USB 2.0 port, Includes 5 Internal SATA data cables (AASAIDC8I), power cord, 2 4P-15 pins SATA power connectors (AA4PSAPC), power cord and user guide.

The Storage Tower II features two standard 5 1/4" drive bays and an integrated power supply in a compact chassis with a stylish and functional front bezel. Similar to other Storage Towers in this family, the back panel on the ST II can accommodate a a varieties of Port Multipliers (PM) and connectors to meet a wide range of applications.

When configured with eSATA/USB Hardware Port Multiplier, the Storage Tower II with a pair of hard drives inside can instantly be turned into a RAID set for redundancy backup or high performance application. Click here for a Port Multiplier Tutorial. The entire RAID set can also be connected to any computer that has an eSATA port or USB 2.0 port. By integrating with two optional Addonics 2.5" Disk Array 4SA, as many as eight 2.5" SATA hard drives can be installed into the Storage Tower II. The back panel also can be configured with multiple eSATA connectors, a regular Hardware PM or the SATA Multilane connector to create a high performance external storage system or a terabyte storage farm that can be connected up to 6 feet away from a computer system.

For the security conscious, Jupiter Cipher Mobile Rack or Saturn Cipher Mobile Rack can be added to provide bullet proof hardware security to protect the data. The Storage Tower II includes a high CFM cooling fan and vented front panel for a well ventilated interior with superior air flow. The case cover which extends over the top and side panels can also be easily removed to provide easy access for storage device installation and cable connection.

      • 5x1 eSATA Hardware Port Multiplier-XA Enclosure Version (AD5HPMRXA-E) to connect up to 4 SATA/SATA II hard drives  to computer via any eSATA port. Can be configured as RAID 1, 0, 10, 5, 3, BIG, or Clone mode. (RAID setting is configured through onboard jumpers or included Windows software)
      • eSATA 4x1 Hardware Port Multiplier (AD4SR5HPMU-E) to connect up to 4 SATA/SATA II hard drives  to computer via any eSATA or USB port. Can be configured as RAID 1, 0, 10, 5, 5+S, BIG2 or BIG4 (RAID setting is configured through a rotary dial switch, no software is needed)
      • eSATA/USB 5x1 Hardware Port Multiplier (AD5SAHPM-EA) with built-in eSATA and USB 2.0 to connect up to 2 SATA/SATA II hard drives  to computer via any eSATA port or USB 2.0 port. Can be configured as BIG(Concatenated), FAST(RAID 0), SAFE(RAID 1), SAFE33, SAFE50, or JBOD (individual drives).
      • eSATA Port Multiplier (AD5SARPM-E) to connect up to 5 SATA/SATA II hard drives  to computer as via 1 eSATA port (require a PM compatible SATA controller). Can be configured as RAID 1, 0, 1+0, RAID 5, JBOD or as individual drive.
      • Multilane bridge (AD4SAML) )for the latest SATA Multilane connection to connect up to 4 SATA/SATA II hard drives to system via 1 Infiniband Multilane cable
      • 4 eSATA connectors for connecting up to 4 hard drives to system via 4 individual eSATA cables.
      • 2 USIB connectors for connecting choice of USB 2.0/1.1, Firewire/iLink, SATA, or eSATA USIB interface cables.

* For eSATA connection, hot swap feature depends on the controller. All Addonics SATA controllers support the hot swap feature. The Storage Tower II can be powered down and restarted to swap out hard drive without rebooting the system.

 Independent drive configuration is only supported with controllers with Silicon Image SIL3124 or SIL3132 chip set.

 IDE and SATA hard drive can be mixed in the Storage Tower II. IDE hard drives can be changed to SATA interface with the addition of IDE - SATA converter. SATA hard drives can be changed to IDE interface with the addition of SATA - IDE converter.
