The External Drive Enclosure UF comes with both USB 2.0 and Firewire interface all built into one stylish aluminum housing. You can now turn any IDE, SATA hard drive or half height ATAPI DVD+/-R/RW, DVD/CDRW into an external storage device that can be attached to any computers via either USB 2.0 or Firewire connection. The sturdy aluminum body also ensures durability and tough handling in wide range of computing environments.

*For Mac OS only, there have been reports of incompatibility with the Firewire connection on G5 and PowerBook running Mac OS 10.2 using SATA hard drive larger than 200G.
For Windows NTFS format, Firewire connection has report of partition limit at 127G in certain hardware. FAT32 format has no such limitation. See FAQ for detail.
You may consider the Saturn ExDrive solution as a substitue to overcome the above mentioned limitation on Firewire connection.
note: SATA optical drives can only be used with the USB connection. The Firewire connection will not support a SATA optical drive

Note
The compatibility of ATAPI DVD+/-RRW and CDRW drives in the External Drive Enclosure UF depends on several factors: the firmware in the ATAPI drive, the software, OS and the interface electronics. We have tested a number of drives in this enclosure using Nero Express software and Cyberlink PowerDVD. The table below summarizes the list of drives that have been tested to work with this enclosure. It is not possible for us to test all the different models of ATAPI devices out in the market. We will constantly update this list whenever new device has been tested. We cannot guarantee that all ATAPI devices will work in this enclosure.
