In a faraway land, an evil king steals away the souls of children and turns them into wooden puppets, before devouring their heads to increase his powers. Our hero Kutaro is the evil kings latest victim. But unlike the other children he discovers that puppets can find new heads in some surprising places. With the help of a mysterious witch, Kutaro steals the evil kings magic scissors and escapes! Now, to find his way home again Kutaro must embark on an epic journey to defeat the kingdoms twelve generals, and eventually face the evil king himself.
