Verbatim’s high-capacity Linear Tape-Open (LTO) Ultrium tape cartridges surpass current tape capacity and performance benchmarks while maintaining the highest data integrity. With a capacity of 200GB and a 30-year archival life, these powerful, single-reel cartridges are ideally suited for backup, restoration and archival applications in the most demanding library environments. Cartridges are rated to withstand over 20,000 load⁄unload cycles and 1 million tape passes. Verbatim’s LTO media supports compatible drives from Hewlett Packard, IBM, Seagate and all other leading manufacturers, while offering data transfer rates of 20-40 MB⁄s for the first-generation 8-channel version.

Verbatim LTO Ultrium cartridges combine the advantages of linear multi-channel, bi-directional formats with enhancements in servo technology, data compression, track layout and error correction code to optimize capacity, speed and reliability. Based on open technology, the Ultrium format offers a four-generation migration path for future capacity and performance enhancements. Upcoming products are expected to provide capacities up to 1.6TB (800GB native) on a single cartridge and transfer rates of 160-320MB⁄s (assuming 2:1 compression). Verbatim LTO Ultrium cartridges are backed by a limited lifetime warranty.
