The TS-470U-SP features an Intel Celeron dual-core 2.7GHz processor, 2GB DDR3 memory (expandable to max 16GB), 4 x Gigabit LAN ports, and SATA 6Gb/s support. Even the most demanding requirements in data centers or corporate networks can be satisfied by the TS-470U-SP. With high memory expansion and outstanding data transfer rates of up to 440MB/s data throughput and 135,000 IOPS*, performance-intensive business applications and concurrent tasks can be easily fulfilled.

The TS-470U-SP supports multiple port-trunking modes, enabling IT administrators to set up link aggregation to increase total data transmission capability. Failover is also supported to ensure continuous system operations. The supported port-trunking modes include: Balance-rr (Round-Robin), Active Backup, Balance XOR, Broadcast, IEEE 802.3ad, Balance-tlb (Adaptive Transmit Load Balancing) and Balance-alb (Adaptive Load Balancing).

Intuitive management tools such as instant SMS/Email alert, hard drive S.M.A.R.T. Run additional operating systems on the TS-470U-SP
With the support for Intel Virtualization Technology (VT-x), the TS-470U-SP can operate the Virtualization Station, transforming the TS-470U-SP into a 2-in-a-box NAS that can function as an all-in-one NAS and a virtualization platform that supports multiple operating systems, fast virtual machine (VM) creation, VM import/export, snapshot, and enables desktop operations on web browsers. With the easy-to-use interface, you can centrally manage all of the VMs created on the TS-470U-SP with minimal effort. You can also download VMs on demand from online VM markets and import them to the TS-470U-SP without any complex procedures.
Note: Pre-installed with 2GB RAM x1. You can upgrade the RAM to 4GB or more to run the Virtualization Station with multiple virtual machines.
Comprehensive virtualization support
The TS-470U-SP supports VMware ESXi, Citrix XenServer, Microsoft Hyper-V and Windows Server 2012, and also supports advanced functions including SPC-3, MPIO and MC/S, enabling flexible deployment and management for virtualization needs. The TS-470U-SP supports VMware VAAI and Microsoft ODX to increase performance by offloading ESXi server loading, and supports QNAP vSphere Client plug-in and QNAP SMI-S provider to provide enhanced operational efficiency in managing virtualization applications.
Full NAS encryption technology ensures data security
QNAPs full NAS encryption by volume-based technology effectively ensures data security by encrypting all the files stored in the default shared folders on the TS-470U-SP.Even if the TS-470U-SP is encrypted, all the files can still be accessible via Windows SMB/CIFS, iSCSI, and NFS protocols. Users without permission to access the TS-470U-SP will not be able to access the stored files, hence data security risks and privacy leak can be avoided.
SSD cache acceleration
The TS-470U-SP supports SSD caching which can greatly boost IOPS performance of storage volumes. It is perfect for improving overall workflow of IOPS demanding applications such as virtualization.
Powerful QNAP flexible volume
QNAP flexible volume provides a more secure and flexible way to store the NAS data. High reliability
The TS-470U-SP supports comprehensive RAID configuration and hot-swapping to allow hard drive replacement without system interruption. QNAPs advanced RAID recovery technology also helps if any healthy drives are removed from a degraded RAID volume by mistake. The system can be recovered to degraded mode by reinserting the wrongly removed hard drives so the data can still be accessible. The Global Hot Spare function also enables the global hot-spare drive to automatically replace a failed drive in a RAID volume, preventing data from being lost.

The TS-470U-SP supports large storage capacities; fulfilling business needs to store large amounts of data. It also supports comprehensive RAID management, online RAID capacity expansion, and flexible RAID migration to safely store important data therefore reducing the risks of data loss. With reliable data protection, the TS-470U-SP is perfect for cross-platform data sharing. The support of Windows AD and LDAP Directory Service saves a great amount of time for account management and authentication. Users can use their Windows AD or LDAP server accounts and passwords to log into the Turbo NAS. The TS-470U-SP can also serve as an LDAP server.

QNAP NetBak Replicator supports real-time and scheduled data backup on Windows including Outlook email archiving. RTRR (Real-Time Remote Replication) supports real time and scheduled data backup to remote Turbo NAS or FTP servers and synchronizes files to remote folders from local folders with better backup efficiency and reduced backup time. The TS-470U-SP also supports rsync protocol to back up data to remote servers on a scheduled basis. Data can also be backed up to and restored from a range of cloud storage services, including Amazon S3, Amazon Glacier, Microsoft Azure, ElephantDrive, Symform, Dropbox and Google Drive.

TheTS-470U-SP provides numerous security options, such as encrypted access, IP blocking, and other protective features. The Turbo NAS supports HDD S.M.A.R.T. (Self-Monitoring Analysis and Reporting Technology) which monitors the hard drive status, and sends out alert notifications through email for administrators to take precautions. Moreover, the HHD Health Scanning technology can examine the hard drive status and prevent possible data loss.

The Turbo NAS supports Syslog server that collects logs from various connected devices over the Internet and saves the data, enabling centralized log management with greater efficiency.
