Chassis Modification or Restriction Notes for using the Intel Server Board S3000AH family Motherboards with the Intel Entry Server Chassis SC5299DP and the SC5299BRP
The Intel Server Board S3000AH family (S3000AHLX, S3000AH, and S3000AHV) may now be used with the Intel Entry Server Chassis SC5299DP and the SC5299BRP with the following modifications or restrictions:
.WARNING: Allservice professionals are strongly recommended to disconnect AC power while working with an open chassis (i.e. protective chassis cover is open). NOTE: While AC is connected there is potential for serious injury if user accidentally makes contact with the REAR 120mm FAN while it is rotating (ACTIVE).
.The shipping chassis standoff locations need to be adjusted by the system integrator to accommodate the Intel Server Board S3000AH family. a. The following four standoffs need to be removed for the AH board support in the chassis: P1, P1, P2, P2 (Processor Standoffs). b. Move the standoffs one by one to the following locations in the chassis: P1 => M, P1 => H, P2 => 1, P2=>3 (Note: There are two P1 and two P2 standoffs). c. Confirm the following stand-off locations are in use: K, L, M, F, 3, H, A, 1, C for the board before beginning the install of the S3000AH board in the chassis. d. Please refer toIntel Server Board S3000AH Quick Start User's Guidefor the figure of the correct nine standoff locations.
.The +12V CPU Power wire from the Power Supplyneeds to properly routed to the corresponding 8-pin white connector on the Motherboard. To facilitate easy rerouting of this wire both chassis side covers should be removed. Please refer to the Intel Entry Server Chassis SC5299-E Product User's Guide for instructions to remove chassis side covers.
.Please refer toIntel Entry Server Chassis SC5299-E Product User's Guide to remove the black colorsystem fan ductfrom the 120mm rear system fan assembly to prevent interference with the Intel Active Heat-Sink. NOTE: This leaves the 120mm rear fan exposed.
.A standard 120mm Metal Fan Finger Guard, with screws or rubber fan rivets, must be added to the 120mm REAR FAN before AC POWER is applied to the Motherboard/system.
.ONLYIntel Server Board S3000AH family Supported Processors with the exception of any EXTREME EDITION processors may be used in this chassis. Extreme Edition processors on this list have a thermal profile that is not currently supported in the Intel Entry Server Chassis SC5299DP or SC5299BRP.
.An Intel Active Heat-Sink shipped with a supported boxed Intel processor MUST be used for proper CPU cooling in the system.
.No FRUSDR support is available with either of the above referenced chassis when using with Intel Server Board S3000AH family.
.While using the Intel EntryServer Chassis SC5299BRP, the black "sense" wirefrom the SC5299BRP Power Supplymay be left hanging (NC). Although a redundant power supply module may be added to the SC5299BRP chassis by the user, there is no power supply failure detection mechanism that is supported.
