AIT was developed by Sony as a backup and near on-line storage solution for extremely large data capacities. AIT incorporates AME (Advanced Metal Evaporated) technology for incredible reliability. MIC (Memory in Cassette) is standard on all tapes enabling advanced tape management and fast file access. AIT-3EX offers a data compression ratio of up to 1:2.6
