Brother"s new M-4318 is the multi-function data printer for demanding users.

At 800 cps, it is the fastest printer in it"s class. And the M-4318 boasts an MTBF rating of 10,000 hours, ensuring trouble-free operation, but it"s speed and reliability are just part of the story.
Departmental work groups operate in multiple application environments requiring reliability and flexibility for graphics, W.P. and multi-part sets. High speed printing, paper handling and parking versatility are a necessity. 9 resident NLQ fonts plus all major emulations, optional single or dual sheet feeder all combine to make the M-4318 the most exciting departmental printing resource available.

High Speed
With its 800 cps high speed mode, the M-4318 is the fastest printer in its class. Its throughput of 220 lines per minute (printing a full 136 columns) means the M-4318 will make short work of any printing job. It prints 10-pitch draft at 600 cps and zips along at 150 cps in its 10 cpi NLQ mode. In addition, it features a special copy mode for darkest print on thick multi-part forms.

Paper Handling
The M-4318 can print six-part continuous forms using its bottom-feed paper path with optional pull-up tractor. Forms can also be fed through the convenient rear path, using the standard push tractor. The M-4318 makes switching to cut sheets easier than ever by automatically parking continuous forms on command from the front panel or through software, eliminating the need to manually switch a mechanical lever. Single sheets are loaded automatically from the top and single or dual-bin sheet feeders are also available. (The dual-bin option also handles envelopes with ease.)

Reliability
With its MTBF rating 10,000 hours, you can be assured that the M-4318 will provide you with trouble-free printing. And the life of its high-speed printhead is rated more than 300 million characters.

Fonts
The M-4318 comes standard with fonts to suit a wide range of applications. It has nine resident NLQ fonts(including OCR A and OCR B) plus five resident bar code fonts.

LCD Control Panel
Featuring a 16x2 LCD, ease of use is designed into the control panel on the M-4318. Simple prompts on the LCD guide users through settings for fonts, pitch, page layout, from selection, and other functions without any DIP switches. For added convenience all of these settings can also be controlled by software.

Easy Ribbon Replacement
Long-life ribbon cartridges snap into place quickly and easily. (Plastic ribbon cartridge reusable)

Software Compatibility
The M-4318 has Epson(R) FX-1050(TM) and IBM(R) Proprinter III XL(TM) emulaitons to ensure compatibility with a wide range of software.
