Management & Protection
Speed (RAID 0)
Preconfigured performance mode provides disk striping across all drives in the RAID drive group. RAID 0 does not provide data redundancy but does provide the best performance of any RAID levels. RAID 0 breaks up data into smaller segments and stripes the data segments across each drive in the drive group to maximize capacity.
Data protection (RAID 1)
Set the system to data protection mode (also known as mirrored mode) and the capacity is divided in half. Half of the capacity is used to store your data and half is used for a duplicate copy offering twice the protection. If one drive goes down your data is protected because you have a second copy on the other drive.
JBOD
JBOD is the use of one or more drives not in a RAID configuration but managed as separate logical volumes.
Hardware RAID
True hardware RAID provides an independent CPU to manage RAID volumes and eliminates strain from the host system CPU providing optimal drive speed and performance.

System-Level Backup
Acronis True Image WD Edition software
Acronis True Image WD Edition software ensures the security of all of the information on your PC. With it, you can back up the operating system, applications, settings and all of your data. Back up the entire system disk drive or selected partitions.
Disaster recovery
Use Acronis True Image WD Edition to back up your critical system files to your My Book Duo drive. The Acronis software provides you with all the essential tools to recover your computer system should you lose data, accidentally delete critical files or folders, or suffer a complete hard disk crash.
Back up system files before upgrading your OS
When you're ready to upgrade your operating system, back up your system files using Acronis so that you can quickly reinstall the necessary files to be up and running quickly. If anything goes wrong with your upgrade, you can easily revert back to the previous OS.
