This Sapphire WRITE PROTECT Drive Reader, equipped with an interface bridge that disables the WRITE function on the hardware level, allows accessing data on any 3.5" or 2.5" SATA hard drives without the risk of accidentally erasing or altering the content on the drive. This unique feature ensure absolute protection on any hard drive or SSD against virus contamination or data tampering. It is a great tool for sharing drives containing important data among different users or for forensic application. This Reader essentially treats any hard drive or SSD as a READ only media, similar to CD or DVD disc.
With the build-in USB 3.1 or 3.0 interface, this Reader can be attached to practically any computer equipped with USB 2. 0, USB 3.0 or USB 3.1 port. The USB 3.1 also ensure fast data access up to 10 Gbps when connecting to system equipped with USB 3.1 port. Integrated with a Snap-In removable drive cartridge system, any 3.5" hard drive can be easily added or removed from this Reader without any special tool. The included 2.5" to 3.5" hard drive adapter also enables loading 2.5" hard drive or SSD into the Reader. By using the optional Addonics' family of 2.5" flash drive kit, you can further expands the capability of this Reader to include various flash media such as mSATA SSD, the latest M2 (NGFF) SSD, the CFast or CF cards.
