Fujitsu have moved scanning documents to a new level with the IX1500.
Moving to the top of the range of Fujitsu's ScanSnap desktop scanner family, the iX1500 makes scanning documents a swift one-tap operation.
Suited to home offices and small businesses, it has a good scanning speed of 30ppm for 300dpi colour scans, it also supports duplex operations and can use simultaneous USB 3 and 11n wireless connections.
The IX1500 has a range of useful features and the versatile ScanSnap software makes scanning a pleasure and not a chore.
With it’s 4.3in. colour touchscreen and a smart menu system it is a step up from the previous SnapScan desktop scanners.
Installation is easy and when connecting the iX1500 over USB 3 to a Windows 10 desktop by followed the instructions provided by the touchscreen's wizard.
There are two power modes to choose: the fast option changes the scanner to standby when the ADF is closed then the normal mode powers it off.
You can initially set it up for USB 3 or wireless connections and for the latter, the scanner can connect to an existing wireless AP or act as an AP for direct mobile connections.
With the Auto-Scan profile taking the work out of scanning as it detects whether they are standard documents, business cards, receipts or photos and automatically applies profile settings and organises them into separate folders on the host.
is impeccable and we were also impressed with how quiet the scanner is.
Loading ScanSnap Home on a second Windows 10 desktop it found the scanner via its wireless connection. Profiles for the users are shown on the scanner's touchscreen so you can customise their names to show where a scan will be sent to.
Cloud scanning is outstanding - ScanSnap Home supports Dropbox, Google Drive and Photos, Box, OneDrive and Evernote.
It will also let you send receipts directly to the Expensify and Shoeboxed cloud services for expense accounting.
A great step up from the IX500.
