After purchasing the TX700W I liked the idea of putting it on the filing cabinet rather than on my already cluttered desk. The wireless function made this possible and after quite a few different brand printers I decided on the epson as a change from the usual 2 year life other makes. The wireless function is very difficult to setup, made even harder with virtually zero assistance from the user guide. OK it does work, eventually. I have tried for several hours to get the scan to email function working via the wireless networking without success. It works using USB quite OK, I have not yet tried it using Ethernet connection. I have heard it will not work with vista even with USB. Cartridges have proven to be very expensive with the supplied units running out very quickly. At more than $20.00 each for each one of six it makes a very expensive printer to run. Six carts are almost the same price as the printer cost me. Print quality is as good as expected and an A4 colour print is quite acceptable. Text looks a bit "bold" and uses up far too much ink. Overall its no a bad printer at reasonable cost (except for the carts). What can one do as most printers today are just reasonable and I hope this one does last a little longer, although at $20.00 dollars for a single cartridge I may have to make a trip to the dump sooner than expected.
