    The E-450 is the latest in the line of ultra-compact digital SLR cameras from Olympus. Built on the core technologies of the popular E-420, this new model updates the series with creative Art Filters and a new and improved image processing engine, TruePic III Plus, for even better picture quality.

    Art Filters for more creative fun

    The E-450 sports an updated image processing engine (TruePic III Plus) and includes three of the most popular Olympus Art Filters - Pop Art, Soft Focus, Pinhole. Olympus Art Filters replicate traditional software or filter effects, thereby eliminating the need for time-consuming and complicated post-shoot editing, and you can even preview the effect through LiveView before you shoot!

    The Pop Art filter intensifies colours dramatically without loss of tonal detail. This filter effect is especially useful in giving colours an instant boost when natural colours might be too dull. The Soft Focus filter provides a dreamy softening of tones - especially useful for beauty shots or portraits. The PinHole filter recreates the fascinating vignetting and colour shift effects of single meniscus toy camera pictures.

    A simple half-press of the shutter release button easily activates autofocus during LiveView operation with the E-450's High Speed Imager AF system. This means even the complete camera novice is able to use the E-450 with ease.
    Face detection technology ensures that focus and exposure is optimised when taking people pictures in single or group portraits. Up to eight faces can be detected. Combined with Shadow Adjustment control, even difficult backlit shots will always appear properly exposed with both subject and background exposure optimally equalised.

    If you'd rather just point, focus and shoot, the E-450 can automatically help you set the ideal camera settings using 18 pre-programmed Scene Select Automatic Exposure settings. All you need do is pick the type of picture you wish to take from the icon driven menu, and the camera comes up with the best settings for you.
