This Multi-Media Bay is a perfect tool to pack more devices into any Desktop or small footprint computer. Mounted into a standard 5 1/4" drive bay, this Multi-Media Bay enables installing a standard 3.5" SATA hard drive and a slim optical drive into one single drive bay. 3.5" hard drive can be added or removed, like tape cartridge, from the Multi-Media bay via the integrated Snap-In drive bay. With the optional Addonics Snap-In 25 drive adapter, any 2.5" SATA hard drive or SSD can also be added or removed from this Multi-Media Bay.

Product Features

  • A 5 1/4 bay system with a slot for slim optical drive and an integrated Snap-In mobile rack
  • Install any slim SATA or ATAPI optical drive and a 3.5" SATA hard drive into a single 5 1/4" drive bay
  • Choice of models with no drive or with optical drives pre-installed.
  • Hard drive can be added or removed, like tape cassette, via the integrated Snap-In mobile rack on bottom of the bay
  • Rugged steel construction for rough handling and fast cooling
  • Point to point Serial ATA connection (no cable to connect hard drive to enclosure)
  • Suspension mount to protect against vibration and shock
  • Designed for effective air flow
  • Hot swappable (1), hard drive can be removed or add to the system without restarting*
  • Compatible with DOS, all Windows, Mac OS X, Linux and Solaris

 * Serial ATA hot swap feature works only with controllers that support this feature. You may consider adding one of the Addonics Serial ATA host controllers to your systems to ensure the hot swap capability. Controllers from your system may not support this feature. Please verify with your system or controller manufacturer if you need to have hot swap in your application.
