works well - My lounge now has Wifi reception

It was very easy to setup.. once you plug it into your PC. My lounge is far from the bedroom router and mobiles had real problem getting a constant signal, that been resolved with the WN3000RP. One more feature is the Ethernet port of the side. Now I can hard-wire Internet to my modern TV. Now this is done, is open up many other features on my TV set I never thought possible.

Range Extender

The first one I purchased died after a few weeks. No power. I had not yet set it up as I was waiting for a network guy to help. Must compliment TechBuy on a quick and easy exchange. They were helpful and offered to mail a replacement but I went to their Silverwater office and did a swap. Took a bit of fiddling to get set up and ended up getting a network guy to help. I am reasonably computer literate having built up a few PCs but could not get it working. When it was set up, it gave coverage through the whole house. Certainly worth the money. If not for the first failure and the difficulty to set up, I would rate it above average. The only problem I could point to is that it is in a bedroom where it can be seen from the bed. It is a bit like a Christmas tree with a number of lights bright green all the time. My son covered the lights with Blue Tac so it did not disturb his sleep. Good thing to remember when picking a spot to install it.

Netgear WN3000RP

I purchased the Netgear WN3000RP on recommendation from a friend. At the time I was having wi-fi problems and he seemed to think the WN3000RP would resolve them. Setup and installation was easy and my existing network had no problems pairing with the Netgear WN3000RP. My only gripe (if you could call it that) is the unit being slightly bulky on a powerboard, however this is quite often the case for power packs in this day and age so the WN3000RP is not really doing anything majorly wrong.. I would recommend it to others that have problems with wi-fi range!

Finally, a WiFi extender that just works

I have tried a few WiFi extenders because of topology of my location, 6 floors and 5 cement slabs with 57 stairs top to bottom. Some have had ridiculous requiremenst like "place within 10 feet of modem". I am pleased to say that the WN3000RP Universal WiFi Range Extender has no such ridiculous requirements and that I was able to place it halfway between the modem and my top floor and that it worked from getgo and continues to work without fault. My reception on the top floor has gone from 1 to maybe 2 bars to the full 5 bars. The only issue is if you move the extender. It can then interrupt the signal and you have to go through the setup again (it only takes a minute or so). But, if you dont move it, it continues to work without fault. A 10 out of ten for a device that is simple to set up and that works as per specification; a very pleasant surprise.

It fixed my network problems

Using this device allowed me to solve 6 months of flakey network issues on my home wireless network. It acts as a repeater and the deadspots are gone!
