The DMC-FH8 may be slim, but it manages to pack in a 24mm, ultra-wide angle Leica DC Vario-Summarit lens, with a 5x optical zoom*. Add to this f/2.5 brightness and you have a lens that excels not only in shooting dynamic landscapes, with its wide angle of view, but also in capturing moving subjects in low-lit situations such as indoors or at night. You can also increase the 5x optical zoom power to a 10x equivalent with minimum deterioration of image quality by utilising Intelligent Zoom and Intelligent Resolution technology.

By combining a 16.1 megapixel CCD sensor and Venus Engine for high quality signal processing, the DMC-FH8 camera is able to excel in the recording of stunning photos and high-definition videos. Create gorgeous video with HD recording with the DMC-FH8

The DMC-FH8 compact camera can record HD motion images (1,280 x 720 pixels) in MP4 format, which is perfect for editing videos on your computer or for uploading to websites. A special, dedicated button lets you instantly start recording videos while shooting photos without having to make any extra settings. You can use the digital zoom during video recording and take advantage of MEGA O.I.S. (Optical Image Stabiliser) to suppress the blur caused by handshake.
