Overview
This Sapphire Combo Blu-ray/HDD drive is a simple external storage solution for adding optical storage and hard drive to any system via a single eSATA or USB 3.0 cable. Equipped with a Blu-ray player / DVD burner, this Sapphire device can play movie or access data stored on all the popular optical media - Blu-ray, DVD or CD disc, and for burning video or data onto DVD or CD disc. The integrated Snap-In Mobile Rack allows any 3.5" SATA hard drive to be conveniently added or removed from this Sapphire drive, similar to using a tape cassette. The built-in eSATA and USB 3.0 interface ensures this Sapphire drive to perform with maximum data speed of the storage media.
Securing the data
You can also secure your data on the DVD or CD disc with AES 256-bit encryption by simply installing the optional Addonics CipherUSB between the Sapphire Blu-ray/DVDRW and the USB port of the PC. There is no addtional software to install or password to remember to use the CiperUSB. Once encrypted, the information on the disc will be invisible in any Blu-ray or DVD/CD player.
