Belkin OMNIView 2x8 KVM Cant play with the Big Boys

Had an old Belkin 2x8 Matrix, running in a Windows 2000 Active Directory domain; vendor sent me an OmniView 208C. Since I had that, I purchased the 8-port expander and Remote IP console. That was 3-weeks ago. Ive spent the last 10 days trying to get results. Finally gave up today, and am boxing up everything to send back! The expander module failed completely over the weekend. A manager promised to overnight a replacement; this is Friday evening, and I still havent received anything. Ive had to reset the IP Console a couple times a day because the hot-key wont work. Tech support said that there was a patch that would fix it. They sent me a patch, but when I tried to apply it, it errored out, telling me that it was the wrong patch. They also directed me to apply firmware patches to the KVM switch and expansion module - but to do that, make sure you disconnect everything from the box first! This is real good news when you have critical servers on those boxes. So I waited until after 5:00pm and downed everything, applied the patches, and tried to call tech support back: guess what? They went home at 5:00pm. The box gets confused and the mouse is unusable; once the keyboard became inop. Their answer: reset the box. Push the reset button, nothing happened. "You have to turn off the power." Reference the statement above about having critical servers that can NOT be arbitrarily shut down! BOTTOM LINE: If you are in a production environment, and/or doing Serious computing, the Belkin KVMs are NOT up to the task, and neither is the company! Im going to spend the extra money for an Avocent or Raritan.
